Our first project, developed in June 2006, is located in the 17th arrondissement, close to both Parc Monceau and the Arc de Triomphe.  Named Villa Monceau, after the street upon which it was located, it featured a 3rd floor 1 bedroom apartment of 58 meters, approximately 630 square feet.  It was located in an immaculately maintained pierre-de-taille building, but required extensive updating.

Our first goal was to enlarge the bathroom, completely re-work the kitchen, and to add chevron hardwood flooring throughout.  Fortunately, we were able to save the beautiful original hardwood floors in the bedroom, which were hidden under the existing wall to wall carpeting.

After renovation, the new bathroom featured Italian marble floors, walls and counters, a full walk-in shower with top of the line Grohe fixtures, bench, and frameless glass door.  We added a quiet-flush suspended toilet, combination radiator-towel warmer, full plate glass mirrors with downlighting, and lots of storage space that hadn't existed in the original configuration.

The Master bedroom features a queensize bed with 600 threadcount Egytian cotton linens, duvet, and large comfy goose down pillows.  Side tables with Candlestick lamps, hand sewn drapes and sheers and an antique (1850 era) wardrobe armoire with dressing mirror completed the touch. Along the way, we added lots of outlets, new heating, and restored the beautiful original wainscoating, walls and ceiling mouldings. The full length bedroom windows look out onto a quiet courtyard with no neighbors across the way, assuring total privacy and quiet.

The entry foyer was remodeled to incorporate a new storage closet, as well as an antique crystal chandelier, marble wall console with antique mirror, and a handy period coat rack.  It provides a dramatic yet functional first impression upon entering the apartment that one is truly in Paris.

The kitchen was gutted, and all new cabinetry with glass doors, pull out shelves, and a host of built-in stainless appliances was added, including frost-free refrigerator, dishwasher, oven, microwave, and a laundry center featuring both a full size washer and dryer.  The kitchen was fully equipped to be able to cook and serve gourmet meals, with service for 8-12 people.

New marble floors and granite countertops truly make this a chef's paradise.

The Living and Dining rooms did not require much in the way of major modifications, other than the hardwood floors.  Chandeliers were added to the beautiful plaster ceiling rosettes, an antique marble fireplace mantle added,  luxurious French drapes with tiebacks, built-in double Murphy bed for the guaranteed relatives who show up, handsewn oriental carpets, antique leather top writing desk from the mid-1800's and much more, make this an inviting area to cozy up with a book, catch up on the latest news on the flatscreen HD TV, or check e-mail on the provided laptop computer with high speed Internet access.
