Our website is finally online!
Moi www.parishomeshares.net

After months of work, I am pleased to announce that our website is now online!  Here, you will be able to learn of our latest projects, get detailed information about how fractional ownership works, check out listings of owners who are reselling the fractional shares, and learn of other developers of fractional opportunities throughout Europe and the US. We are still working out the kinks and adding content, so check with us often.

My goal is to make this your one stop entry into the exciting world of fractional ownership. At the same time, I want it to be fun!  So, features on places to see in Paris, restaurants to check out, new art exhibits that you won't want to miss will be highlights of our newsletter and the website.

Make sure to bookmark us and visit often!

Staying Cool While Paris Sizzles
BerthillonAir Conditioning or "Climatisation"

Anyone who has visited Paris in July or August knows that the heat can be sweltering, especially combined with the high humidity. Fortunately, this summer has started off meekly, with rain and cool temperatures throughout most of June and into July. But one cannot hope for that weather to prevail indefinitely.  How to stay cool while those around you are swooning with heatstroke? Here are some common sense suggestions:
1.  Plan your sightseeing and shopping for the early morning or evening hours, before things have warmed up.
2.  Take frequent breaks, and enjoy that 2 hour lunch in the shade like the Parisians do.
3.  Use the Metro to your advantage. It stays cool all day, but avoid the evening rush hour traffic crowds on the busy lines.
4.  Check out the museums during the heat of the day.  Many are air-conditioned, and the crowds are thinner and the lines shorter as well.
5.  Swing by Berthillon's (on the Ile de Cite) or any other ice cream parlor for a cool scoop of glacé.

At Paris Home Shares, we believe that comfort starts at home.. which is why all of our apartments include air conditioning.  Depending on the building, these may be mobile air conditioning units, or where permitted, a split-unit central air conditioning system.  Many buildings do not permit placing of the condenser unit anywhere on the exterior of the building facade, which is why portable units are so popular.  They are effective in both cooling and de-humidification, and can be easily moved from room to room.
Nothing can be more unpleasant than sweltering in bed on a hot sultry August night. We strive to make sure that every owner can enjoy Paris, both day and night!

A Taste of French Music

Do you enjoy music?  I do!  A fun way to feel a little like you are in France is to listen to some French music, either at home or while at work.  I have a couple sites for you to check out that are fun and free.  First, Cherie FM, one of the biggest music providers in France has a nice website at www.cheriefm.fr  They offer 2 styles, easy listening, and soft jazz and stream music 24 hours a day.  The 2nd source is at www.linternaute.fr, the French daily online magazine (which is also a good place to practice your French reading skills).  Just click on the radio link, and enjoy musique à la française in any of 16 available different genres.

Happy listening!
